Hey everyone. I wanted to run this by the community to see if other owners of MBPs have had similar problems.

I have a friend who bought a MBP about three years ago. It was once the unibody design came out and a 13" model was offered. I think the CPU is about a 2.3Ghz C2D and 2GB of RAM. It was pre-loaded with Leopard, if that helps for a timeframe.

Anyway, I helped her set up a wireless network in her new apartment. She had no trouble connecting to my local network while she lived here -- she never mentioned it as far as I can recall. I'm using an AEBS, she's now using a Linksys 802.11g router that's a few years old.

So I get everything set up yesterday, secure the network, change the SSID, etc. Got her computer working on it. I then upgraded her to Snow Leopard since I had the DVD from my dead MBP. I actually bought two copies of it since I lost the first, so I knew I was within my bounds to put that copy on there. Took about an hour but it upgraded fine.

Today she texts me and lets her know that the thing isn't connecting. I tell her the correct password and she's still having trouble. Her Android-based phone connects, but her computer won't.

So I'm going to take a look at it Saturday. I just wanted to see if this was some known issue among some older unibody MBPs. My MBP died of a video adapter failure, and it wasn't the only one of its class with that trouble. So I just thought I'd check. She was cursing Mac, so apparently she's, um, frustrated. It was so bad that she thought her work PC would be better. I know, SCARY STUFF.
