I have an ibook with version 10.3.9...my girlfriend has just bought an ibook too but with version 10.4..
Can I use her system CD to install it on mine? How do I do it without erasing my itunes Library and such..? Is it worth it?

Any ideas? Cheers.

David

You can probably do this via an Archive and Install but it is illegal. The restore DVD is only licensed to be used with the machine it came with.

It wouldnt work.

Apple will have some kind of security measure to stop you using the same install cd twice.

You have to buy it.

They don't.

The restore CD/DVD will normally only boot on the correct type of machine so PowerMac restore DVDs will tend not to boot on iBooks but you can use the same restore CD/DVD on lots of machines. It's not like Windows. There are no activation codes.
