From beta 9.1 to full release 9.0

Will Apple automatically revert me back to the official release at one point or do I have to backup+reset my ipad Air 2 to go back to the official 9.0 release?

No they will not. You need to revert back to 8.4. Hopefully you archived that according to their beta website. Full instructions are found there.

If you didn't archive, you'll have to find an 8.4 IPSW file. Hopefully others will chime in for more info on that.
