I posted about what I had done yesterday but deleted it all after I thought I had found the solution. Here are the facts:
  • No reason but reverted back to public release macOS High Sierra 10.13.1 over Beta 4
  • Downloaded the public release over the beta file.
  • I was having zero problems with Beta 4 (I have no idea why I did this)
  • Forgot what moving to an older version would do to my photos.library file
  • Decided to rejoin beta program, added my computer and in fact downloaded High Sierra Beta
  • Two hours later, it finished the download and then stopped right before installing
  • Numerous times getting out and rejoining beta program to try to reload macOS Beta version
  • Hard reboot each time
  • After downloading the PublicBetaAccess file each time AppStore does not show the macOS Beta link
I would like to go back to the beta version because I use my large 330Gb photos.library file on a daily basis. It will not work with an older version of High Sierra 10.13.1

Is it safe to assume I would need wipe the hard drive, reinstall from my Time Machine backup to get back to the beta version of High Sierra?

Edit: What I posted below won't work since macOS 10.12

Is the download or install failing in App Store? If so, you might want to try downloading the 10.13.2b5 combo installer and installing it directly.

Open Terminal.app to check the software catalog your App Store is using with this command:
Code:
defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL

You can then copy resulting the URL to Safari, and search (Cmd + F) for "macOSUpdCombo10.13.2.pkg"

The URL within <string> tags (http://swcdn.apple.com/... etc, etc, ending in ....macOSUpdCombo10.13.2.pkg) is a direct link to the combo installer.

It stops right after the download is completed but before it moves into the installation cycle started from the App Store.

Thanks for your help. I'll try what you suggested.

Note: The combo installer is downloading now. Thanks
