So it's late at the moment and this is coming from a tired mind. I've been thinking about getting an iphone. This led me through thinking of increased power of mobile devices to thinking whether it makes more interference for planes when your flying. I doubt anyone knows the answer to that however.

Here's the question, has anyone been in a plane and one of the engines has cut out?
 
there is an 'airplane' mode that disables the cell and wifi capabilities of the device since they're supposed to be off anyways.
 
well I mean say if one of the four engines cut out. They would survive that wouldn't they?
 
You would even survive if one of two engines cut out. Do a google on the "Gimli Glider" if you want to read a cool story about a double flameout that managed to land safely.
