From Lion to Mavericks?

Hey, hows it going everybody. I recently purchased a new iMac with has Mavericks preinstalled on it. I have been using a blackbook that is topped out at lion 10.7.5. I back up this computer daily through through time machine. My question is, will I have any problem using my back up disc to boot on my iMac, and then essentially just clone my macbook and all its setting into the new iMac? Also, I haven't looked it up yet, but can someone tell me how this properly? Thank you for your help.

Hi,

you can't "clone" a 10.7.5 Mac to a Mac that came with Mavericks installed.

You will be able to transfer your data from the old Mac to the new one, see here :

Thank you for the quick reply Bruno. I will try the method that you posted. Its too bad, I thought it would work.
