Fighting an inner battle of sorts. I’ve previously had a S1 space gray aluminum and now use a S4 space gray aluminum. I was originally going to upgrade to the S6 stainless for a more premium look but am struggling with the fact their might not be a big enough reason upgrade. So for anyone that’s upgraded from a S4 aluminum to the S6 stainless, how are you feeling about it?

That’s exactly what I did and you know what? I’m loving it. You won’t be sorry, set that money free!

JMHO but there's plenty of reason to upgrade from S4 to S6. AOD being a significant one for me.

but we're all in different spots and the upgrade cost is more impactful to some than to others. That too has to be considered.

I do get a little jealous of my wife and the AOD on her S5. Cost isn’t as much of a factor because this is something I’ve looked forward to. I’ve just been second guessing it for some reason this year.
I’m at a little different point in life now than when I started out with my Aluminum S1. A more premium product fits my lifestyle. I do still wear my S1 on the production floor at work, mainly to count steps and to receive notifications.

I have an S4 aluminum and ordered an S6 Graphite SS. After 10 days of waiting, and reading forums and watching YT, I remembered that my Series 0 SS was heavy compared to the wonderful lightweight aluminum. So, I’ve canceled and will be reordering. (Don’t EVER cancel or return something to AT&T. It’s a nightmare waiting for them to restore upgrade eligibility!)

I had the aluminium S3 and S4. I sat out the S5 round, and recently upgraded to a graphite SS S6. Really happy with my choice. New watch looks lovely.

Personally I appreciate the slight additional added weight. I used to wear a mechanical watch prior to my first Apple Watch, and being able to feel the weight of the watch is a plus to me.

I'm appreciating the AOD more than I expected to. Weirdly it makes it feel more like I'm wearing a watch and less like I'm wearing a computer on my wrist. It's less the fact it is always on, and more the fact that I don't have to wait the half a second or whatever it took for the screen to come on when glancing at the time.

This may or may not be relevant to you, but if you’re not sure if you want to spend the money on the S6, (I mentioned it in another thread), the S5 will be slashed for Black Friday, Which this year is all digital and many retailers announced it will expand over 3/4 weeks versus two days. So you might be able to find S5 with AOD for a steal of a price if you pay attention to sale prices and quick with a purchase.

Which retailers are continuing to normally stock Series5 watches?

Looking at Target I'm not seeing any S5 availability, and looking at BestBuy I'm seeing only openbox S5s.
This is key. I went looking at Best Buy, Target, Verizon and Walmart and nobody had any in stock.
