Is it just me, or is this just what some users were dreading would happen - thanks to the 'iPod' generation? Taken from Amazon UK:

:p

well i heard something similar at an apple store from a conversation between two idiots. "hey, I didn't know that iPod made computers". I laughed so hard that day. I think we all knew this was coming. The ipod gave apple computers a boost in sales and made apple's products mainstream. Now we see apple computers in more places than we usually would see a few years ago.

Yes, that is a very odd thing to see... I wonder if the people who made the ad really know what's going on, or that they've discovered that it sells better to advertise this way. It grates on my nerves though.

That one kind of makes sense.... Kind of.... It was a brand new design and had a G5 in it. But still it is weird to see Apple do it themselves.

Not really.
I don't think they were necessarily advertising to people that ONLY knew the iPod, and letting them know Apple also made computers. I think they meant the new iMac was literally from the makers of the iPod (i.e. Jonathan Ive, etc.).

Someone came over, saw our iMac and said, "Hey, it's an iPod computer!"
