Hi,

I currently have the 15" MacBook Pro 2.66GHz (Mid-2009) unibody with 320GB (7200 rpm) and 8GB RAM which has/is serving well. However since the recent refresh I am thinking of going down to the 13" MBP in order to have more portability and newer technology (CPU, Thunderbolt etc)...but I am not sure if it is a worthy upgrade.

I mainly use my MBP for software development (which also sometimes involves running various VM images in VMware Fusion), casual image/video work using Photoshop/Aperture and the usual web, mail, office type of stuff.

The drop in screen resolution would not be ideal, but I do sometimes hook up my MBP to an external display so that may not be the deal breaker. I was planning to put in a hybrid HD/SDD in my MBP to speed it up a bit.

Not sure whether to stick with what I have or go for the new 13" MBP - still undecided on the base model or the i7 version...

Any thoughts?

Thanks
