Front Row and iTunes Problem

I recently upgraded my Mac and migrated everything over. My iTunes library is on an external hard drive. When I try to use Front Row the song won't play. If I play the song first in iTunes and then Front Row, it works fine.

What can I do to make iTunes think all the songs have been played? I read or heard that there is a scan type program that will play 1 or 2 seconds of every song in your library. Please be aware that I have over 6700 songs.
