Front Row and Quick Look Problems

I am currently having trouble viewing .avi files in Front Row and Quick Look. So far other formats seem to be working. I have Perian installed. When I go to view one in Front Row or Quick Look, I get a blank screen that indicates progress in time, but no video or sound is being piped through. It's bizarre. Anyone have any suggestions?

Same thing for me, Apparently Front Row and Quick Look use the same technology or something. I have downloaded all the codecs (XviD, 3ivX, DivX, AC3). I can play the videos in Quicktime and I can see the previews for them in Front Row, but I can't actually play them(in Front Row); a black screen comes up.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem, and solved it thus:

Grab the codec bundle from here:

http://blog.twenty08.com/2006/12/27/codec-pack-for-all-the-new-mac-users/

Install 'em (unzip then drag to library/quicktime folder)

Restart the Mac
