Front Row looks fine in menus, but there is no video output

I hooked up my Mac Mini to my new LCD screen today via DVI and ran into a problem in Front Row. Hangling through the menus works fine, album artwork gets displayed properly and floats around, but I get no video output - neither from the videos I added manually nor from the trailer section in Front Row. I can hear the sound playing, but there is no image.

I tried several different resolutions, but to no avail so far. Watching DVDs works fine, as does playing videos in iTunes and switching to full screen from there - but Front Row leaves me down.




[edit] DVD playback from within Front Row doesn't work either, but as I wrote it works fine otherwise.

I tried some more options during the week...

- changing the resolution from a 16:9 ratio to 4:3 didn't solve the problem
- streaming perfectly fine videos from shared iTunes libraries doesn't work either (within Front Row)
- when waiting for the trailers in Front Row to load, I can at least see the progress bar, so there is something going on at least

I am running out of ideas here...
