Front Row Preferences?

Is there any way to access the preferences of Front Row? Specifically, I am trying to turn off the blue time slider that pops up the first couple seconds of each video clip when playing a DVD backup. I was under the impression that Front Row used the Apple DVD player to play Video_TS, but visually the controls are different. It is pretty annoying to have the on screen display fade in and out during each of the warnings, menus, etc., especially when they load one after another.
