Am I the only one who missed Front Row? With the plethora of streaming services and options, it just seems like a no-brainer.

I think what I miss more than Front Row is that simpler time in technology. No streaming services, being a new breed of cable cutter, and no smartphone in my wallet to distract me from the joy of walking to Block Buster to rent DVD's of LOST to play on my 2006 mini, my first Mac, used like the future Apple TV, and that simple white plastic remote.

The closest thing to Front Row today is the Home Screen of the Apple TV app, but Netflix won't be there, and it won't see iTunes, DVD player, or photos.

I used it as a TV interface for a couple of years (2007-ish to 2009-ish, Mac mini connected to a TV input), but I don't miss it at all. Apple TV is much better. For music we now use Sonos almost exclusively, so the one thing I miss is the display of what is playing now on Front Row. But it was a little kludgy at times, and had about as dumb a remote as the Apple TV remote with the touchscreen-only. Even the new Apple TV remote is a little sucky.
