Hi All,
I have a launch day White 256gb iPhone X on latest iOS 11.4

For about the past 2-3 weeks, my phone has daily required a hard restart. It frequently will completely lock up and become unresponsive for about a minute or two at a time. I often find it happens after I get out of my car (BMW connected via BT). I'm not sure it's related, I just want to give as much info as possible to see if others are having similar issues.

What I also notice is that the phone is actually logging keystrokes and then "catches up" once the phone stops freezing. For example, Apple Pay pops up frequently because I end up mashing the wake/sleep button a few times.

I just spoke with a friend who is having the same problem with his X, but I haven't seen much else online about the issue.

Anyone else having similar problems?

My wife's X has the same issue. For now I bumped her back down to 11.3 Beta 6 and hopefully Ge0snow releases his patch to fix the annoying update popup every time the phone is unlocked. But 11.4 was doing all sorts of crazy things to my wife's X. Earlier FaceTime screwed the thing all up....it's a garbage build/update.

Yet it never occured to you to contact Apple or get a replacement or even return it? I mean if I paid $1k for a phone that required a hard restart daily, I would go straight requesting a replacement or refund.

Do a clean install of iOS 11.4. That means a complete wipe and fresh install. Don't just "restore" or use a backup. Do it clean. And before you load the phone up with apps, test it out. See if it lags or crashes with just a fresh install, especially when using BT with your car. If the iPhone runs well and doesn't crash, maybe you have an app issue.

So I did a "restore" and it worked perfectly for about 48 hours on my phone. I guess I'll use my backup 7+ for a day or two and try and do what Velin suggested and restore it from new. I also checked with my friend who actually did the restore first and he too had about a day or two of perfect behavior but is now back to the same grind.

Oh well, I just wish there were more hours in the day to mess with this stuff. It always just seems easier to get frustrated, reset it, and say "i'll just deal with it later" and then later never comes.

Exact same problem here, right down to the BMW. It actually started on my 7. Since I got screwed by ATT on the screen deadspot issue, I decided to trade up immediately. Guess what? Within 24 hours of transferring to the X, same exact problem. I did the "put the phones next to each other" setup and restored from backup.

X is updated to 11.4.1, the old 7 never got there. I was thinking it happened upon change in established WiFi networks. It could also be upon Bluetooth change.

Regardless, it is freakin' annoying!
