(I know there are many threads on this general topic, but my circumstances are unique and I just figure basic forum rules of not jumping into someone elses thread with my problems applies here.)

So... I bought a used Macbook Pro which was running Mountain Lion 10.8.3 at the time. After I made some updates, I think I ended up at 10.8.5.

Wanted to try installing Yosemite on a new partition on my SSD. Created one of 200GB (GUID partition) using my startup drive called "MacHD" and named it "MacHD (Yosemite)".

Opened the Yosemite Install program on my "MacHD" partition and installed it onto the second partition "MacHD (Yosemite)". I was able to startup on the second partition and everything looked and worked fine within Yosemite.

So then from Yosemite aka "MacHD (Yosemite)", I started up Migration Assistant to transfer files over. First, though, I should note (although I don't know if it's important)... I changed permissions on the Yosemite Partition to be R/W by Everyone/Administrators. Also, I included everything on the Migration Assistant transfer list (as well as all users) from "MacHD". I made sure it was under 200GB as well.

But now Migration Assistant appears to be stuck transferring my information. It paused a little over half-way and it's been paused for about 2 hours. :( Is that normal? What can/should I do? Of course, there's no cancel button.

I have a Time Machine backup of my "MacHD" before the partition, btw. Should have copied using CCC or something just to be safe but got lazy.
