frustrated with apple mail

apple mail was working fine until i decided to put in multiple gmail and yahoo accounts. can apple mail not access multiple accounts from the same email client?

more specifically....the problem is that altho i've been able to read the new messages, i've not been able to send any messages out; it just sits in "outbox"

i have 2 yahoos (sbcglobal), 2 gmail, and one university webmail.

any thoughts?

Check your SMTP settings in the Accounts pane of Mail's Preferences, and ensure the default is one that you can use (the original account's SMTP setting should work, even if the new ones don't).
