Hi Guys,

Super frustrated. As recommended on the forum, I went ahead and bought Crucial Ram from Newegg for my 2011 15" mbp. I am currently on my 2nd set of RMAs for the ram sticks. I thought crucial should be the most stable brand for mac rams? Is this version of the mbp super sensitive? Anyone have the same experience? Or am I just unlucky?

I am about to request a refund and to see if I can try my luck on another brand. Any recommendations? Oh and my mpb came with hynix brand ram sticks.

MBPs use standard Intel chipsets so they should be no sensitive than any other laptop. Give G.Skill a try, it's another popular brand here and has gotten good reviews in NewEgg (also cheap).

Ram that works.

I purchased the following RAM for my 17" MBP 2011:
  • Mushkin Enhanced 8GB 2X4GB PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 9-9-0-24 SODIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit for Apple

I bought that same exact set from newegg. Was going to install it today. The Kingston Hyper X looks good. But I dont think I can run 1600 speed on my 2011 13" i5 since it's not a quad core. :(
