Sometimes I will leave an app like Beats, Spotify, or the Great Courses without sliding it upward to remove it, so it stays as one of the background apps. However, on occasion, when I am working on my iPad or iPhone and go back to the Home screen, one of these apps will kick in to gear, full volume, without me pushing play. It's almost as if iOS 8 is querying each app when you return to the Home screen, and this trips these apps into thinking it's time to start playing again. This has proved to be very embarrassing on two occasions now. These days I'm sure to totally kill those apps when I leave them.
