Frustrating iTunes issue

I'm using itunes 10.5 and have been experiencing a new issue. Every time I expand iTunes from the mini player it automatically selects the search bar

Like this:

Then I can't pause or play without deselecting the search bar.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.
