Frustrating Problem importing photos into Photos (Yosemite)

I'm trying to drag in my old iPhone photos into the photos app that I have stored in a folder on an external hard drive.

I used image capture to store these photos.

I keep getting this pop up and it's driving me mad.

Any ideas what's going on?
