I am sitting on a 3rd gen iPad Pro, which by itself works fine for my use. Last year, I paired it with the Magic Keyboard. It's been hugely disappointing and frustrating. No major issues, just a lot of small ones that interrupt the experience like loosing connectivity to the iPad, odd key functions, over-sensitive touchpad (mechanical rather than haptic), functions that work one moment then not the next. It just seems like the two are not integrated well as one would expect from Apple (or actually it seems, less expected these days).

I'm considering upgrading to the latest iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard, but I'm hesitant if the same issues exist in the newest iteration. I'm getting so disappointed with the Apple ecosystem (not just based on this posted issue) that I've even considered looking at Android or Microsoft.

I'm looking for feedback on the latest iPad Pro, iPad OS, and Magic Keyboard experiences. Super user input would be helpful.

I have the M4 13" Pro (18.4.1) and the MKB and have never encountered those kinds of issues - it works very well. This setup has supplanted my laptop so it sees a lot of use. For that matter, my wife uses the M1 12.9 with the earlier MKB and she's been problem-free with it.

I’ve had a 11” M4 Pro and MKB since last July. It goes everywhere and performs flawlesssly. I don’t recognize any of the issues you describe. I love this machine. A++

Before this one, I had a 4th generation 12.9” iPad Pro with a MKB for several years. It was a rock solid device too -but I didn’t use the MKB much as it was a bit heavy/bulky to go everywhere.

It sounds like you have a defective iPad and/or MKB.

I’m thinking about buying the latest iPad Pro with a magic keyboard. Everyone I talk to on here seems to love it. I’m always suspicious of 100% positive feedback because everything has a little bit of negative. Nothing can be perfect.

You might be jumping from the frying pan to the fire here. It never hurts to try new things though. Even if it turns out to be worse, it will give you some perspective.
