Hallo,
It is just about 3 months that the FTP service is working in a strange manner... I have a small network made with a WIFI gateway:
- 1 PowerBook G4 (10.4.4) (connected via WiFi)
- 1 Mac Mini G4 (10.3.9) (connected via Cable)
- 1 PC with WindowsXP Pro SP2 (connected Via Cable)
When I use FileZilla (a windows ftp client) to connect to MacMini to move files from the PC to the Mini, the connections work immediately; when I try to do the same thing with the PowerBook, I have to wait for 15-20 seconds hoping to connect. Sometimes it fails and the same delay is required before starting to transfer files.
I tried to reset the service, to change active/passive mode... Nothing changes. And what is strange, all the other ways of sharing (Samba, mount of remote iMac mini, print sharing of the Windows printer, internet proxy) made with the PowerBook work perfectly as from the beginning...
I think that a service should work or not... While this ftp service is working like: "Uh, let me think.... yes, now you can proceed...".
I've never seen a thing like this with Linux (all flavors).
Could someone help me?
