FTP server with a specified drive/folder

I'm looking to set up an FTP server on my Mac Pro accessible by both Mac and Windows users. I've read internet pages that instruct how to set up an FTP on the Mac in the preferences, but can't seem to find anything that states how to specify a drive and folder.

Is this possible to do just using the Mac or do I need to get myself an FTP server program? If a program would better suit my needs, what does the community here recommend?
