Just updated to Catalina. When I navigate to the Applications folder to add an application to the list of those which have Full Disk Access literally no Applications show up. It's a blank window.
Not in Application but I got something similar in Download folder of my user. I can't write to it because I don't have privileges. Don't know why. Check if your user has the right permissions in the Application folder
I was prompted to do this by ScanSnap after updating.
Since macOS 10.15 Catalina, ScanSnap Home is required to have the Full Disk Access permission to access a folder in which scanned images are saved.
(Full Disk Access has been added to since macOS 10.15 Catalina for enhancing folder security. Granting Full Disk Access to an application is required in order for the application to accesses a protected user file.)
OK I figured out what my problem was. I couldn't access any applications because I was navigating to the Applications folder via my user rather than directly from the hard drive. In other words:
MacMini > Macintosh HD > Applications > <all applications are shown>
VS
MacMini > Macintosh HD > Users > <my user name> > Applications > <NO applications are shown>
So I was able to add the ScanSnap app to Full Disk Access and now ScanSnap is working again.
I'm still a n00b when it comes to OS X. I knew System 7 and 8 pretty darn well though! OS X is confusing to me. 😊
