Full File Name Display (short cut)

Does this actually work for any of you guys? Holding down Option or not, I still have to wait a few seconds before full file name is displayed.

No, doesn't work for me either. But that tip does appear to be for Tiger, so maybe things have changed.

Wonder why they took it out for Snow/Leopard. Really drives me nuts!

Is there another way to go about this?
