So one of my favorite 90's childhood shows was Full House and now it's coming back as a Netflix Original Series next month. The outside shots of the white Victorian house with the red doors as it was in the original series appears in the trailer for the new show. Last I looked on street view, the house no longer looked like that as of last year. It was repainted and no longer had red doors as of very recently. I'm very curious to know if the outside of the home has been restored to its 90's Full House look for outside shots for the new show. Can someone living in San Francisco swing by the house and tell me what it looks like now? It's located at 1709 Broderick Street. I'd greatly appreciate it!

Here is how the house currently appears on street view.

Considering the designs of the homes next to it in that trailer preview screenshot don't match up with those that are actually there, it sounds like a bit of good old "movie magic" (as in computer effects these days) is likely in play there.

I'm pretty sure there are some major renovations done since considering those houses are worth over $3 million.

Upon further examination, it appears that the clip in the trailer is actually taken from the original series. All three homes seem to have underwent renovation on the outside since the mid-90's when full house ended. 1709 basically looks the same, but the neighboring homes seem to have some of their gingerbread details changed.

That leaves the question, what are they going to do for outside shots for the new show? Recycle old shots from the 90's or show the house as it stands today? I guess we shall see.

Considering the quality the show was filmed at back in the day and the how unlikely it is that they reused the footage, I would go as far to state that all the outside shots are/will be completely computer-rendered. Although it is possible they did go back to the original film and painstakingly remaster it. (I surprisingly couldn't find an image of the shot of the house from the original show.) Let's remember: they never actually filmed any scenes in front of the house. In this reality, the houses are still as they were in the 90's. I

If you search online you'll find that they rebuilt the house on a set to match the one on the original full house.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who got it

And it's on Netflix. It will get at least 2 seasons. I think it's going to be a big deal.
A lot of them seem to get the ax after just one, not surprising considering they rehash shows that we're already dead anyway. Still, it'll be fun for nostalgia's sake.

Which ones, out of curiosity? It seems that many get more than one season.

That's what I thought too. 90's sequels tend to do well, an example is Girl Meets World, continuation of Boy Meets World with much of the old cast. Seems to me the formula to success involves using many of the original actors and directors.

This is how the house looks like from our visit a week ago
Thank you! And it's beautiful. You think maybe they'll use it on outside shots for the new show? It would make sense that the house would look different as the new show takes place in the present. Maybe they just showed the recycled and remastered old clip in the trailer for nostalgia sake.

It's SF, why is it so surprising?

There are houses similar to that size here in Toronto asking close to that if if had major renovations done.

A tiny little 2 bedroom house in Sydney is currently being advertised as "a very affordable home" at A$1.6 million.

$3 million for one of these in San Francisco sounds like a steal to me.

3M for a home is nothing here too or even down in say San Diego. A home a block away from me just sold last September for around 6M. I went to SF years ago and those trees in the current Google shot were much smaller from what I recall. I'd imagine they used some CGI to make it resemble the old house in the old show.

Oh, no...I got it. Dave Coulier was doing that bit well before "Full House". I think he started it on "Out Of Control", maybe even in standup before that.

It definitely looks like a 3D computer model to me. The house on the right just looks too flat to be real, and the main house has some odd lighting issues that are present in many 3D models.

But what would be the point of a 3D model? The houses actually used to look like that, so they would just need to remaster the old clips. Plus I doubt they would include the power lines in a 3D model.

I don't think it's a 3D model. It's been renovated many many times.
