I have been public beta testing iOS 10 for a while now. And since the GM version is officially out, I've been wondering if it is still a valid point to full restore instead of using OTA?

I have an iPhone 6s Plus and everything is butter smooth but still wondering if that was a clean install given that the size of the OTA update was 1.79gb? That is, erasing everything and starting from scratch without using a backup. (Eventually when the official iOS 10 comes out on the 13th)

I'm so used to doing a clean restore via iTunes since iPhone 3g so I don't know if things have changed in terms of installation clean up with OTA.

I've run straight through since iOS8 getting my iPhone 6... no wipes.

Only time to wipe is if you are low on space, unexplained stability/performance issues.

I've run straight through iOS 8, 9 betas, 9, 10 betas, 10 and seems good.
