I don't know much HTML, so forgive me.

I was wondering whether it is possible to have a background picture that automatically resizes to the screen, without it just being cropped.

SoBe for example. I know this is in flash, but is it possible to get the same effect in HTML?

Thanks:confused:

Yes, you can put an image like that as a background image.

- The image isn't "resizing" it's position on the page is changing

- You can do this with HTML/CSS

Thanks very much for your help, i've got exactly what I need now!

You also have to take into consideration that they are using a full flash layout. Flash will easily allow you to resize it's workspace with a little actionscript, unlike CSS (not 3) which will not do that.
