Full screen BBC iPlayer on Safari

I am having a problem with running full screen BBC iPlayer on Safari on a secondary display via airplay to Apple TV. When I click full screen, I get stuck with the menu bar along the top. If I full screen Safari, then full screen the video, after a little while, the video shrinks to a quarter of the screen.

Any ideas?!
