Full screen mode moves to windowed screen on its own, wo touch

13" Macbook Pro 2016 without the touch bar.
Not sure how best to describe it briefly.

I'll be using an app in full screen mode and without touching the trackpad, sometimes without being anywhere near it, as in feet away from the laptop, it will on its own, pan to the left back to the windowed screen as if I had done a 3 finger scroll between screens.

This has happened to me on this machine since I purchased it. I'm now running High Sierra but it also happened with Sierra.

Is this a known software or hardware problem? I also have a 2016 15" MacBook Pro with Touch Bar for work and I have not noticed this behavior.
