Full screen transition clips?

I was in the Apple store and on the 13in Pro and 11/13 Air when going to full screen the Menu bar at the top seems to get clipped and not really transition smoothly like it does on the 15in pro and iMacs. Is this due to the intel GPU or something else?

It just doesn't look right.

I don't think it's a hardware problem—something similar to this happens to me on occasion, almost always after disconnecting from my external display, but it always returns to normal after restarting.

Hopefully whatever's causing the problem will get fixed in a coming Lion update
