Hello,

New Macbook Pro owner, love it so far, what took me so long to convert???

Anyways, I have an external montior and like to watch videos etc on it, in Quicktime, but when i full screen the video, it switches to the full screen on my MBP display, which I dont want, I want to be able to use the MBP display as a screen for emails, chat etc with the video on my external Monitor, I have connected using DVI!

Any Suggestions?

I have the external monitor set to "main" monitor with white bar in the setting!

Cheers

If you dragged the dock from your MacBook Pro display to the external display under system display preferences as you said, then I can't see why it wouldn't work.

The Dock does appear on the external display right?

What you need to do is open up quicktime, go to preferences (not quicktime preferences) and then to fullscreen. There you should be able to change the screen that quicktime goes to when you're on fullscreen.

I do not have my mac connected to an external display at the moment, but I think it's easy to see what to to when you look at it.

If you use the View->Present Movie (Shift-Command-F) when you have two screens attached you can choose which screen to display on by clicking on the correct screen.

If you look at the attached you will see a little Quicktime logo on one of the screens. That's the one that will be used for the fullscreen playback.

Solved

Right I got it working, In Quicktime preferences, there is a fullscreen tab, which you can decide which screen you want for full screen, similar to the way you choose in system preferences.

Thanks for the help!!!
