Full Screen Video = Low Framerate on rMBP when viewed through browsers

If I full-screen youtube, vimeo, etc - any video I'm playing from any of my browsers (chrome, safari, firefox), the frame-rate drops dramatically. I've tried resetting PRAM, SMC, etc. Every bit of software is up to date.

Any ideas?
