I tend to get distracted easily when doing homework (like right now).

I was just wondering if there is some app that will go full screen when typing. Basically Text-Edit or Pages with full screen is all I want. I click on Camino, Mail etc. way too often when I should be typing a paper.

I tried Write Room, but it's only a trial, and I didn't really like it.

Anybody know anything? Thanks :)

I suggest watching the MacBreak episode #22 which is 4 mins long and offers several different and valuable suggestions for what you are looking for. I think you will be pleased with the solutions they offer.

Sadly this option costs money.

Not if you use versions 1.0 or 2.2 :^) This is my writing program of choice, and was actually one of my primary reasons for trying out OS X. To the OP, if you don't want one of the free, no-limit versions (which are what I use), there's also Textforge (its only flaw is the lack of a word counter), or screenblinding applications like Think.
