I hope I don't get flamed too much.

I'm only asking because I plan on buying a Mac Mini for my parents, but must avoid OSX to avoid mixed network issues and my parents' unfamiliarity with the operating system.

I must get a Mac Mini because it is the strongest system for its size, and size is the most important consideration after processor/chipset.

So, if I get the baseline Mac Mini, can I completely wipe OSX in favor of Windows 7. And if I do (which I think I can), will the Mac Mini work just fine? Or will I face all sorts of other issues (drivers and other incompatibilities)?

Thank you for your help.

You should be able to do this, although I'm not sure how well Boot Camp drivers support Windows 7 at this point.

I'd suggest taking a look at the Dell Studio Hybrid as well. They're sweet-looking machines, and I wouldn't mind one for a Linux home server myself.
