Hi Everyone,

I am sure this question has been asked before, but after digging through posts, I couldn't find any useful information...

I want to use my F-Keys for opening applications and folders, and would like to know if there is a good free app out there. I downloaded Function Keys Mapper, but after my trial expired, I can't use it anymore without paying nearly $20, which seems a little steep for such a simple application. I used to use X-Keys, but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

(By the way, why in the world does Apple still not have this built into the OS, like it was in OS9?!)

Thanks in advance for any help.

Try Quicksilver's triggers. It's good for that and a whole lot more. Plus, with the Abracadabra plugin, you can configure gestural input!

quicksilver is extremely simple, that is why it retains it's title as one of the best hot key application launchers ever made.

if it's too complicated... well you can always add a second dock
