Function modes in Mac OS / XP

Hey there,


a friend of mine changed the option for the functions so that Spaces is working with F8, but now, I have to press "Fn" all the time to adjust volume, light etc...
do you know how to switch the Functions keys modes both in Leopard and Windows XP ?

uncheck "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as..." under Keyboard in Keyboard & Mouse preferences. there should be a similar option for Windows in the control panel.
