Hi guys,

I've recently bought a Apple wireless keyboard (MC184LL/B) to use with my 13" rMBP (updated to Yosemite).

However, I couldn't get my function modifier key (fn) to work. Shortcuts like fn+delete or fn+function keys are not recognized and instead their default function is performed (as if the function key is not depressed).

So far I've tried re-pairing the keyboard but didn't seem to help. Would really appreciate it if someone can point out what I am missing.

Cheers.
Nick

Hi blueroom,

I could use it to perform actions like forward delete or accessing f keys system wide on my rMBP keyboard. I'm not aware if it is limited to within any program.

Cheers.

Surprisingly, I've found the solution on Apple support communities. The culprit seems to be the latest version of USB Overdrive 3.1. Downgrading to 3.0.2 seems to have fixed the problem.

I will definitely not to dismiss the website as a legit source of finding solution in the future. Hope this helps whoever come across this post in the future! Cheers.
