I have two Staples "Relay' 16GB flash drives that now won't work on my MBP 13" - OS X 10.7.4. But they do work on my older Macbook Pro 15" and on my MacPro tower at work. When I insert either of the drives in my MBP 13" the drive light flashes but eventually I get the "this drive was not ejected properly" and then it quits. Restarts, reformats don't work. Anyone think this is a NVRAM thing or something else that could be affecting the usb ports? Other brand flash drives do work on the 13" Or should I reformat them to FAT32 thinking this might fool the Mac? All offers appreciated.

It's probably the age and quality of the drives....I don't have many, but the ones I do have are Cruzers..16GB for transport of large video files now and then. They work with all 3 Macs fine. You could try re-formatiing them, but they are dirt cheap these days, so newbies shouldn't cost you much if they still won't work.
