M1 gives away the Asus RT-N56U with a subscription renewal. (Retail $189 in Singapore). I hooked it up, and while doing the configuring it asked me if I wanted to update the firmware. I clicked YES, and it bricked. A call to support took me to India. They guy told me I needed Windows to run the rescue tool. I told him I do not own a Windows machine. He said I had to get one. I hung up. I tried email support. They gave me the address where to exchange the router.
The queue was 90 min long (other people retuning routers). I tossed it in the rubbish, and bought a $59 router. The email support tried to follow up. I told them it is in the rubbish. It took them over two weeks to get back with "Let us know if we can help you with anything else". That was the "Icing on the cake".
