This has made my day - FUSE if available for the Mac.

"Hunh?" I hear some or maybe most of you saying.

FUSE is "Filesystem in USErspace" that has been available on Linux for a while, and which allows support for such things as ntfs-3g, which allows reading/writing to NTFS drives ... among other filesystems here and here.

Ok, it's pretty geeky stuff, but someone out there is going to make a Cocoa wrapper for ntfs-3g to read/write NTFS drives sometime soon.

That someone is Amit Singh, the current Manager of Macintosh Engineering at a little place called Google.

If you're a total OS X dork and want to know more about the dirty, dirty, dirty inner workings of the OS, then Mr.s Singh's book Mac OS X Internals is worth the price tag.

EDIT: oops. Just lauding Amit Singh a bit. :)
