With Fusion 3.0 installed, my usb drives and eyetv work sporadically. I'm running a 2008 Mac Pro (single quad core) with Snow Leopard. I installed Fusion 3.0 and Windows 7 and my USB flash drive would sporadically not appear in either my Mac desktop or the VM USB devices. Same with my eyetv tuner. Interestingly, my HP printer is plugged in through USB and never had a problem. Everything worked fine when I first installed Fusion 3.0 but after a week or so, I noticed the problems. I unistalled the USB controller in fusion 3.0 and my flash drive worked immediately. Reinstalling the usb controller caused the problem to reoccur. I decided to uninstall fusion 3.0. Uninstalling Fusion allowed the USB flash drive to work, but I had to restart Mac osx to get eyetv to work.
I tried reinstalling Fusion 3.0 to see if it was corrupt and didn't install the vmware tools and the problem still occured. However, the second time I unistalled fusion 3.0, eyetv still would not work and my external speakers mysteriously stopped working. I had to reinstall Snow Leopard to get everything working again. I've given up and ordered parallels 5.0. Has anyone else had this problem?? Any suggestions??
O yea, and my network connection was terrible with Fusion 3.0 installed. It took me forever to figure out that it was Fusion 3.0 because the problems occur even when the VM is shut down?????????? I assume there is some kind of conflict with the shared hardware on my Mac Pro.
