I have Fusion installed on my mac pro and am having no problems. I am using 2 monitors, and usually run OS X on one, windows on the other, with the stock mac Pro adapter.

I have a brand new ATI FireGL V3400 PCIexpress adapter that is not being used. I'm wondering, can I add that and a third monitor and devote it to a Windows/Fusion only window so I can have 2 OS X windows? Or do I need to add an Apple adapter?

Just trying to use what I have laying around.

thanks
Fred

I tried...

Since there were no replies, and the card was just sitting here, I gave it a go.

No luck. Of course OS X didn't recognize it, but it did know there was a card in the slot and told me what the performance was. But it didn't put an image on the display.

Then I tried to load the ATI drivers under the XP Fusion window. It told me there was no hardware found.

Oh well, at least now I know.

Anyone want to buy an ATI FireGL V3400, or trade an X1900 for it?

Or I just wait for the new graphics card and buy it.

Both VMWare and Parallels, to my knowledge, simulate graphics through OS X, so it doesn't matter whether the card would work directly in windows (say through boot camp).

cheers.
