Does anyone know of any studies or white papers on the technical details of how Fusion Drive actually works? I'm interested to know how the technology decides what files get stored on the ssd vs. hdd, and are there any exceptions such as files that are always stored on the ssd only.

Thanks

If it's not on the Apple Developer site (under CoreStorage), then I'm guessing Apple are keeping it to themselves.

Of course, the whole point of Fusion is to relax and not worry about the details! :p

It seems to me that during the keynote it was stated that the OS core files will be permanently assigned to the SSD.

I work closely with storage equipments and I'm also interested to know how Apple implemented their "technology" as well
