So now that iLife updates through the app store, will we still see newer versions like ilife 11 or ilife 13 etc....or will it just keep updating for free?

No one knows if future major updates will be free. I'm going to assume they wont be though, much like how buying 1 version of OS X doesnt grant you free access to future major versions.

Apple? Free? Are we talking about the same company?

I just hope they keep the cost down. Lion was relatively inexpensive, and Aperture as well. And you can buy parts rather than a suite.

A major benefit of App Store distribution is that it allows families to buy an app once, anywhere, and have it on all their machines. When iLife, OS X, and iWork was distributed on disc, you had to pay a little extra (not much extra) for a family pack of up to 5 computers.

Not sure if it would be the same for small businesses.
