Future of AirPort / Time Capsule

While its no secret that the AirPort Time Capsule isn't/aren't the most in-demand products, it's anyone guess what Apple plans to do with this product line. The last news we heard was that engineers were being moved away from these products to other areas.

What would you want to see Apple introduce in the future? It surely wouldn't be surprising to see them release an online-only service (i.e. Backblaze, et al), which could tie into existing iCloud accounts.

The general consensus is sadly that it's dead. Honestly what I want though is just more TC/AirPort. Maybe even a mesh setup with 802.11ax support (60GHz waves). I love my current Time Capsule

Apple has moved out of the router/wifi business (even though they still sell the "Airports", they disbanded the development team for them a while back).

It's time to start investigating the new "mesh" systems from other sellers.

I gave up waiting for Apple to introduce a new Airport and replaced my old Airport Extreme and Express with Google WiFi just a month or so ago. Very happy with the performance and how easy it has been to set up and use.
