I've been in the market for a macbook ever since my dad took my dear 12" 867 PB to brazil. I miss it and I bought a G4 Mac Mini (1.5 GHz 64 mb gfx) and a dell 24" screen while i waited for the intel jump. While it played my legal dvd rips fine, they looked blocky on the 1080p screen. Ever since, i've been seeking out higher def media, but the mini chokes, so i have to use my girlfriend's macbook ( 2.0 GMA 950), which is also seems to drop frames on 720p x.264. Looking at the timeline for the mac books and gma cards and nexgen optical discs, what should i wait for to play 1080p x/h.264? I seem to think a processor bump and a X4500 with the AVC hardware acceleration. Or has the x3100 cut it for you? Any thoughts?
