Hello.
I used to have a 2008/9 15" Macbook Pro that I used as an office computer. I had it connected with a NEET Mini Display Port - HDMI adapter to a Hannspree TV. It worked fine. Then the Macbook died of a presumed Logic Board failure. So I'm attempting to replace it temporarily with my 2012 Macbook Air. However the display on the Hannspree TV with the same adapter plugged into the Thunderbolt output is a bit blurry. It most obvious on text. Its kind of like looking at a display from Windows 98. I'll attach a photo to try and show the problem.
I have mucked around with all the settings (mirroring and not, changed scaled options (including holding down the option key).
So to try and trouble shoot the problem I have:
connected my wife's Macbook Pro to the Hannspree (same blurryness)
connected the same adapter to my Sony TV (same blurryness)
connected my wife's Macbook Pro to my Sony TV (same blurryness)
taken the adapter into the Genius Bar, and connected it to their monitor (no blurryness)
Connected the adapter to a Benz computer monitor I have elsewhere (no blurryness)
It would seem that neither my Macbook Air or my wife's Macbook Pro work well with TV displays where my old MAcbook Pro didn't have a problem.
But why? And how do I make it better?
