I used FileVault2 to encrypt my whole internal drive on my Mac Mini. What I am trying to figure out is, if I use a cloud service like DollyDrive for automatic backups (like TimeMachine), will my data have 2 layers of encryption in the cloud (FV2 and DollyDrive's encryption)? I am not sure if the data will be uploaded in a decrypted state or not.
Thanks

No you will not have two layers. FV2 is encrypted, but once you login the drive functions like a normal unencrypted drive and if you backup to an online service like DollyDrive or Crashplan you have only the encryption offered by that service.

I see. Has anyone come up with a good way to do what I'm asking? I was thinking of a truecrypt container, but most cloud storage providers have limits to filesize (my container would be 200Gb)
